D.W. Hill
D.W. “Pete” Hill, 80, of Mt. Eaton, died Feb. 16, 2011, at Affinity Medical Center, Massillon, following a period of declining health.
Pete was born May 21, 1930, in Mahone, W.Va., and married Lois Wass on June 10, 1955. She survives. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict and retired in 1982 from Central States Can Company. He attended Mt. Eaton Community Church.
In addition to his wife, Pete is survived by a daughter, Terri (Mike) Smith of Wooster; granddaughter, Lisa (Mike Bezbatchenko) Hostetler of Tallmadge; grandson, Matthew Smith of Wooster; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Rileigh; sister, Olive (Jim) Campbell of Malvern; and brother, Clifford Jones of Massillon.
Services were held Feb. 19, at Mt. Eaton Community Church, with Pastor Jeff Matthews officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery, Mt. Eaton.
