The College of Wooster is one of four regional host sites for the sectional round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship, Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12, at Timken Gymnasium in Wooster.

Top-ranked Whitworth University (27-1) will take on Marietta College (27-3) Friday at 5:30 p.m. with the fourth-ranked Fighting Scots (28-2) set to meet Cabrini College (24-5) following that game, at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The winners of the two Friday games will meet back inside Timken Gymnasium Saturday evening at 7 p.m. with the Sectional title and a trip to the DIII “Final Four” in Salem, Va. March 18-19, both on the line.

The College of Wooster knocked off Manchester 47-45 during second round action at Timken Gymnasium back on March 5, after beating Benedictine (IL) 74-68 to open their tournament run the night before.

Fighting Scots starting guard and leading scorer Ian Franks scored a game-high 14 points against Manchester after pouring in 16 against Benedictine (IL).

The College of Wooster last hosted sectional tournament games in both 2003 and 2004, finishing third at the 2003 NCAA DIII Tournament in ‘03, but failing to reach the “Final Four” in ‘04.
