Wooster High School Drama Club to present Twelve Angry Jurors

The Wooster High School Drama Club will proudly present the three-act play, Twelve Angry Jurors, on March 23, 24, and 25, at 7:30 p.m., and March 27, at 2 p.m., in the WHS Performing Arts Center.

Originally written as Twelve Angry Men, the Drama Club cast will include a combination of males and females, hence the renaming of the production to Twelve Angry Jurors. The play is based on the award-winning film released in 1957 starring Henry Fonda and an all-star supporting cast. The story takes place in a crowded jury room on the hottest day of the year. Twelve jurists are charged with the responsibility of deciding the fate of a 19-year old man who is accused of killing his father. The audience witnesses the personalities of the 12 revealed as they debate this life or death decision.

Several of the roles have been double cast in order to include more actors in the production. Members of this ensemble cast include: Joseph Bruch, Andrew Shaffer, Amanda Crouser, Stephan Dulaney, Emily Alltop, Kimberly Sibilia, Charles Wright, Mrgan Redman, Emily Neill, Michael Keating, Natalyn Baisden, Sonja Dittman, Samuel Franklin, Brooke Morrison, Danny Shisler, Dylan House, Hans Qu, Bethany Marty, Christina Morgan, and Sam Shabitzer. Special guest members of the cast will include local Wayne County judges. The voice of the judge, normally heard off stage, will come from a real judge as they open the show in a cameo role, delivering the jury’s charge to the audience. The play will be presented with the audience seated on stage in a “black box” setting.

Tickets will be sold on a general admission basis and seating will be limited. Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $5 for students and seniors and will be sold at the WHS athletic office during regular school hours and at the door the evening of the show. The production is intended to showcase the talents of the WHS Drama Club as a part of the Wooster City Schools Fine Arts Festival.
