Cheese making tools

I recently found this photo of old cheese making tools. These tools were in my museum in Charm at one time. The making of cheese was and is a very important industry in Holmes County. Pictured is a tester for butter fat, a wire stirrer, a cheese hoop, and board for forming and storing the cheese. When the barn was torn down, I sold these items at auction as they were too large for my private collection.

Recent auction prices: brass bucket, $27.50; Tonka toy truck, $20; cream can, $15; grain cradle, $20; rack of smoking pipes, $15; wood eagle, $10; wood bucket with old yellow paint, $25; brass spittoon, $20; ice tongs, $7.50; hay knife, $12.50; crock with spigot for water, $40; glass front wall cabinet, $15; toy wheel barrow, $17.50; U.S. postage stamp machine, $15; glass electric butter churn, $40; wood kitchen stool, $10; Yoder feed sack, $7.50; Texaco oiler, $12.50; Shell oil can, $10; pair of ice cream scoops, $5; Pepsi-Cola carrier, $12.50; flour bin can, $5; and a local collectible, Millersburg courthouse bowl, $400.

Happy hunting, Brooks.
