Annabelle Lisic

Annabelle L. “Nippy” Lisic, of Wooster, formerly of the Washington, D.C., area and Annapolis, Md., died April 26, 2011, at Wooster Community Hospital.

Annabelle was born in Akron, to the late Francis and Betty Lisic, and graduated from Our Lady of the Elms, Akron, in 1960. She earned a Bachelor of Science with a major in French from Rosary College, Chicago, and was employed by the Department of Defense as a research analyst and special agent. After earning a law degree from the University of Maryland, she launched a colorful career in the law, ultimately serving with the Maryland Attorney General’s office.

Annabelle was a member of the Catholic Church and the Maryland Bar Association. She was a published author, an avid golfer, and an adult education teacher. She enjoyed flower gardening, museums, world travel, and her family.

Surviving are siblings, James M. (Wendy) Lisic of Poulsbo, Wash., Laurel (William) VanLear of Atwater, and Larry G. (Mary Lou) Lisic of Orrville; nephews and nieces, Steven (Tracy) Feldscher, Stephanie (Chris Capra) Mann, Amanda (Nick) Gordon, Jonathan (Ling) Lisic, Kathryn Lisic, Sebastian Lisic, Brian Lisic, and Jennifer Lisic; and eight great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by a great-nephew, Zachary Feldscher.

Mass of Christian Burial was held April 30, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Orrville, with Rev. Ronald J. Turek officiating. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Orrville.
