Geraldean Andreas

Gearldean Andreas, 89, of Strasburg, died peacefully May 3, 2011, at Union Hospital, with her family around her, following a period of declining health.

Gearldean was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Holloway, to the late James W. and Hazel Piatt. She graduated from Canton Township School (now Canton South) in 1938. On April 13, 1939, Gearldean married Kenneth E. Parrot, who died in 1982. In 1989, she married Ranson Andreas, who preceded her in death in 1993.

Gearldean and Kenny owned and operated a dairy farm north of Strasburg for almost 40 years. They also owned the Beach City Airport for a number of years. She loved helping on the farm, gardening, cooking for her family, and spending time with her friends.

She was a member of Strasburg United Methodist Church, where she was active for many years. She was also a member of the Beach City Lions Club, the Sorosis Club of Strasburg, and The Gang, a group of high school friends who met and played cards monthly for over 60 years.

Surviving are children, Jay (Bonnie) L. Parrot of Strasburg and Darlene (Noel) McDowell of Wooster; grandchildren, Neil (Elaine) Parrot of Strasburg, Sheree (Rick) Niece of Clarksville, Ark., and Devon (Brandon) Grosjean and Heather (Ben) Drown, both of Wooster; and great-grandchildren, Lauren Blakney, Bailey Parrot, and Reilly Grosjean.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Piatt; and infant sister, Evalyn Piatt.

Services were held May 6, at Strasburg United Methodist Church, with Rev. Lynda K. Masters officiating. Burial was in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg.
