Art 101 Gallery now open in downtown Wooster

The Art 101 Gallery is now open in downtown Wooster, at 146 East Liberty St., next to Roomscapes Furniture & Fringe Hair Salon in the Liberty Street Commons. The gallery represents local Ohio artists, and has three spaces within the building.

Currently on exhibit in the gallery’s main space are photographs by Marita Bitans, and pottery and sculpture by Scott Borror.

Horse paintings by Wooster artist Karen Brenner are on display through the end of June in the additional space on the main level. When visiting the gallery, Karen may be on hand demonstrating her techniques throughout May and June.

The space in the lower level includes a collaborative collection of additional local artists, offers a variety of styles and price ranges, and caters to designers (for both commercial and residential projects).

Through the month of May, hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday (closed on Wednesdays and Sundays). Beginning in June, the gallery will be open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (with extended hours during local events), or by appointment upon request.

The gallery will host exhibits and special events in conjunction with local community events, beginning with a casual open house during Kid’s Day on the Square. As a family-friendly gallery that loves to engage little visitors in gallery activities, Art 101 has a great afternoon planned.....refreshments, interactive sculpture demonstration by Jane Corbus......lots of fun and photo opportunities.

On June 23, during Ladies Night Out, the gallery will have its grand opening. Meet the artists while enjoying live music, wine and hors d’oeuvres. Raffles and door prizes will provide fun for the adults.

Lisa Warner Bond, gallery owner, has 27 years of experience as a gallery owner and interior designer. She also owns Art 101 Gallery on the square in Medina.
