Ada Sivey

Ada M. Sivey, 86, of Shreve, died May 24, 2011, at West View Manor, Wooster.

Ada was born June 15, 1924, in Lafayette, La., to the late Mentor and Octavine Smith. She married George Sivey on August 28, 1948, and he died in 1992.

Together, Ada and George ran Sivey’s Cafe for 15 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church for 45 years. Ada enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Ada will be deeply missed by her children, Susan (Charles Snodgrass) Sivey, Robert Sivey, and Beth Sivey, all of Shreve; grandchildren, Kristen (James) Nichols and Samantha Sivey; great-grandchildren, Jase Morris and Leah Nichols; brothers, Austin Smith of Louisiana and Patrick Smith of Oklahoma; and sister, Pearl Bourg of Michigan.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Pete and Gerald Smith; and sisters, Gladys Trahan, Margaret Hanson, Mary Jane Bellot, Beverly Broux, and Eula Harris.

Mass of Christian Burial was held May 27, at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Wooster, with Father Steve Moran officiating. Burial was in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
