Members of the Wayne County Young Republicans (YR’s) traveled to Washington, D.C. to visit the nation’s Capitol and observe government in action June 11-14. The office of Congressman Jim Renacci scheduled tours for the group, including the White House, and Renacci met with the Wayne County YR’s in his office Monday, June 13. The Congressman invited the Wayne County YR’s to the House Gallery to watch the House in session and observe voting for amendments on current legislation on Monday evening. It was a great opportunity to see the Congressman representing his constituents. The Wayne County YR’s also had the opportunity to see former state senator Bob Gibbs who, after voting, came up personally into the gallery to say hello to the group.

Following the voting session in the House, the Wayne County YR’s joined the Washington YR’s for an evening watching the Republican Presidential debate, providing a good opportunity to mingle with other Young Republicans.
