Carlos “Cork” Appleman lived in the Shreve/Wooster areas during his life and was a Rubbermaid retiree. His generous bequest created the Appleman Scholarship Fund with the Wayne County Foundation. This scholarship provides annual funding for individuals to utilize the LPN training at the Wayne County Schools Career Center. This scholarship is based on financial need and service to others. It was Appleman’s desire to help individuals continue their education in the nursing field as a tribute to the many STNAs who provided care for him prior to his death.
