Erma was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Holmes County, to the late Levi and Mary Hochstetler. She was a member of Longenecker Mennonite Church and had lived all her life in the area. She loved cooking, sewing, playing board games, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband, Martin A. Schlabach, whom she married Feb. 17, 1949; children, Leon (Fannie) Schlabach of Orrville, Linda Brenneman of Elida, Adrian (Kathy) Schlabach of Orrville, Lula Hudson of Wooster, Jerry (Judy) Schlabach of Smithville, and Dean (Shelly) Schlabach of Jackson Township; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Sarah Coblentz of Walnut Creek; and brother, John Hochstetler of Benton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Levi Schlabach; sister, Clara Miller; and brother, Ivan Hochstetler.
Services were held July 1, at Longenecker Mennonite Church, with Pastors Dean Miller and Kevin Himes officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
