Jan was born Nov. 19, 1948, in Steubenville, the son of Rufus L and Rossie M. Marcus. He had been married to Trudy Atkins for 39 years. She survives.
He worked at Kauffman Tire Service for over 21 years and was a member of Dalton Church of Christ.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Benjamin (Deanna) Marcus of Orrville, James R. (Amber) Marcus of Wooster, Riyssa D. (Joseph) Green of Norfolk, Va., Lamont Griffith, Joi Griffith, and Anthony Marks, all of Wooster, Phillip Marks of Dalton, and Endessia Atkins-Marcus of Wooster; grandchildren, Alexis, Austin, Hunter, Alana, Zachary, Nevaeh, Leeland, Adrianna, and Branson; siblings, Gloria Johnson of Steubenville, Olivia Griffith and Joyce Carter, both of Wooster, Bernice of Camilla, Calif., and Pearl and Lilly, both of Florida; cousins, Carolyn and Joyce Pettice of Wooster; and multiple nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Adam Marcus; brother, Joseph Marcus; and aunt, Ann Pettice.
Services will be held August 6, at 11 a.m., at Heyl Road Church of Christ, with Rev. Dean Troyer officiating. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery. Friends will be received August 5, from 6-9 p.m., at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster.
