Senior citizens to hear about Hiking Through and Biking Through

Paul V. Stutzman

On Tuesday, Sept. 27, senior citizens are invited to attend an event known as Something for Seniors. Seniors are invited to come anytime between 9-10 a.m. to enjoy coffee or tea. This is also a time to make new friends and connect with old friends. At 10, Paul V. Stutzman, an avid hiker and biker, will share about his hiking and biking trips through America. After losing his wife in 2006, he left a career in restaurant management to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail. In 2010 he embarked on a journey completely different, yet the same, in that both journeys served in reaching out to others to share his story of faith, compassion and hope. He has written two books, Hiking Through, Finding Peace and Freedom on the Appalachian Trail and Biking Through, It’s About Time. The second book is newly released and will be available. For more information on his journeys, visit his websites at http://www.bikingthrough.com and http://www.hikingthrough.com.

Following the program, lunch will be served for a donation of $6.50 per person. This will include a time of conversation and getting to know each other better. The lunch will be prepared by Mountain Top Restaurant.

Something for Seniors is beginning the eighth year of monthly programming at The Pier. Something for Seniors is scheduled for the last Tuesday of each month September-April (excluding December).

Beginning in 2004, Mahlon and Jean Steffen, from the Kidron area, have partnered with The Pier to provide a special monthly program for area senior citizens. Each month’s program has continued to delight and inspire the audience of seniors.

The next Something for Seniors program is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 25.

If you would like more information, call Jean and Mahlon at 330-857-8484 or The Pier at 330-359-2071.

The Pier is located at 10470 Winesburg Road, approximately 1 1/2 miles south of Mt. Eaton or four miles north of Winesburg, and it is handicap accessible.

All senior citizens are invited to come and enjoy this event.
