Evan Fish

Evan W. Fish, 22, of Wilmington, N.C., formerly of Wooster and Orrville, died Sept. 3, 2011, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, from injuries sustained in a fall.

Evan was born May 17, 1989, in Wooster, to Lynn S. Bridger and James W. Fish. He graduated from Wooster High School, class of 2007, and held several jobs over the past few years, most recently working for Gold’s Gym, Wilmington, for the past year.

In his youth, Evan was a member of the Boy Scouts and participated in the soap box derby. During his high school years, he was a captain on the Wooster High School swim team. Evan was an artist and loved languages, speaking fluent German. He was passionate about health and physical fitness, and loved to make people laugh. Above all, Evan was a loving son, a caring brother, and a wonderful friend. His memories will live on in the hearts of everyone that knew him.

Surviving are his mother, Lynn (John) Bridger of Orrville; father, James (Stephanie) Fish of Wooster; sister, Laura E. (Kevin Geiser) Fish of Greenville, S.C.; a very loving dear friend, Ellie Schwaner of Wilmington, N.C.; maternal grandmother, Mildred Imhoff of Wooster; paternal grandmother, Beverly (Keith) Beery of West Lafayette; paternal grandfather, William (Harriet) Fish of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and stepsiblings, Jacquie (Craig) Foltz and Jennifer (Mark Stanford) Henry, both of Wooster, Stephen (Bethany) Henry of Orrville, Abigail (Jason) Bridger White of Harden, Mont., and Hannah (Scott) Bridger Carlson of Cincinnati.

Memorial services will be held Sept. 9, at 12:30 p.m., at Grace Brethren Church, Wooster. Private graveside services will be held in Crown Hill Cemetery, Orrville, with Pastor Larry Smithwick officiating. Friends may call Sept. 8, from 6-8 p.m., at Auble Funeral Home, Orrville.
