Blaine was born August 18, 1954, in Coshocton, the son of Lois Jean and the late Phillip Ivan Holt. He was a graduate of River View High School and grew up on the family farm in Brinkhaven before moving to Killbuck in 1974. He was employed by Sperry and Rice, Killbuck, for the past 27 years, and worked a number of years before that at Shriners.
Blaine was an avid OSU fan and a fan of all the Cleveland teams, which he enjoyed watching in his free time. He enjoyed being outdoors and liked helping others with their yard work, often accepting nothing in return. He enjoyed playing softball for many different teams, then became involved with the little league and coached for 20 years. He loved to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored.
Blaine married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Pyers, on Jan. 12, 1974. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Courtney (Michael) Troyer of Millersburg, Brett Holt of Missouri, John Reining of Shreve, and Derek (Patty) Reining of Millersburg; grandchildren, Brennah, Averee, Hudsun, CiLynda, Chalana, Trevor, Austin, Ethan, and Leah; sister, Bonnie Geiseler of Heath; and nephew, Kelsey (Nicole) Geiseler of Newark.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Holt; father-in-law, Carl Pyers; mother-in-law, Fern Pyers; and brothers-in-law, Jack Geiseler, Blair Russell, and John Martin.
Services will be held Sept. 28, at 2 p.m., at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with Pastor Kenneth Smailes officiating. Burial will be in Killbuck Cemetery. Friends may call Sept. 27, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
