A distant peak on the horizon

Mt. Hope is starting to look like a distant peak on the horizon for the rest of the teams in the Fall Youth Basketball League at The Pier, after improving to 5-0 on the season, with a seven-point win over Kidron on Tuesday, Sept. 27, which kept it the only unbeaten team playing at the Lighthouse of Hope.

Hope is quickly running out for Walnut Creek, however, after dropping to 0-5 on the year with a 65-47 loss to Farmerstown, despite an 18-point effort from Darrel Beachy, which tied Willis Raber for game-high honors.

Meanwhile,league-high honors went to Danny Schrock, who poured in 23 points against Silverstone, as Pleasant Valley Buildings picked up 10-point win.
