David Wells to present special Back to Church Sunday music program
On Sunday, Oct. 16, Smithville United Methodist Church, 243 N. Milton St., Smithville, will have the opportunity and privilege of hosting David Wells for a special Back to Church Sunday. This will be a special event and the community is invited to attend worship at either 8:30 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. where Wells will be doing several musical selections. Nursery will be available for children preschool and younger.
David Wells, a gifted flugelhorn/trumpet player from a small town in West Virginia, has been living his dream of a career in music. At the age of nine, Wells began learning the flugelhorn and trumpet, with his professional debut at the age of 13. Heavily influenced by Louie Armstrong, Herb Alpert, and The Tijuana Brass, Wells evolved into an instrumental soloist with the capability of reaching his audiences on an intimate level. In 2011, Wells came out strong with his newest CD, Light, which was released in August 2011. There will also be an opportunity to purchase some of Wells’ work on CD’s.
