“We felt showcasing our district churches would be a great way to kick off the Christmas season in downtown Orrville,” explains Darrin Wasniewski, executive director of Main Street Orrville, Inc.
The congregations have arranged for special musical programming for the evening. A full schedule can be found on Main Street Orrville’s website, http://www.MainStreetOrrville.org. In addition to the Candlelight Church Tour, Orrville Historical Society will host the final evening of A Christmas Celebration at the Smith Orr Homestead from 5-9 p.m., featuring their Christmas Tree Silent Auction.
In between visiting Augsburg Lutheran Church, Christ United Church of Christ, and the Smith Orr Homestead, visitors downtown can catch dinner at Heartland Point, which features a special dinner menu on Thursday evenings, or shop for gifts, as downtown’s stores all host extended hours on Thursday nights.
The Candlelight Church Tour is sponsored by Mennonite Mutual Insurance Company, Smith Dairy, and Wayne County Community Federal Credit Union.
