Davis featured speaker at Women’s Network

Ken Bogucki, Wooster Inn proprietor, allowed Meena Ghaziasgar, special guest speaker Cheryl Davis, co-owner of Today’s Kitchen Store, and Mollie Curie into the inner sanctum of the kitchen at the Wooster Inn as a fun play on the “kitchen store” focus at the Wayne County Women’s Network luncheon Dec. 1.

The Wayne County Women’s Network luncheon featured member Cheryl Davis, co-owner of Today’s Kitchen Store. After a successful career in IT, Davis was happy to join her husband, Rick, in a new adventure. “Rick is the heart and soul of the business, and I am the process management,” shared Davis. Together they have managed to design an exciting downtown destination, which, in the 15 months they have been open, has partnered with about 100 vendors supplying more than 2,800 items.

Davis shared about the challenges and opportunities in securing the right location and unique quality items, structuring accounting systems, creating a website, and trying various marketing strategies. She is on the board of Main Street Wooster and has worked with other area merchants to increase Wooster’s visibility by participating in cooperative Northeast Ohio radio advertising. In addition to the store, they have offered 122 cooking classes to about 1,200 students to date. More information is available at http://www.TodaysKitchenStore.com.

The next meeting (open to all women) will be at Montavino’s, at 5:30 p.m., Dec. 13, and everyone is invited to bring a teddy bear to be distributed to a child in the area as well as an appetizer to share.
