For his academic, athletic and civic achievements, Wooster High School senior Luke McGee was recognized by the Wooster City School District Board of Education as a student of the month from Wooster High School.

The recognition came at the board’s late November meeting.

On Nov. 9, McGee signed a national letter of intent to play baseball next year for The Ohio State University.

McGee is one of only eight student athletes that form Ohio State’s incoming baseball recruiting class for 2011.

A left-handed pitcher, McGee was part of a Generals team that won the Ohio Cardinal Conference title last spring. Last season, McGee went 8-0 with a 1.55 ERA and 57 strikeouts and was named the OCC Pitcher of the Year.
