Seventeen little girls, ages two to four, were treated to holiday hair styles during the annual Wayne County Schools Career Center cosmetology little girl styling contest held recently. The children were all dressed in holiday outfits.

The 17 cosmetology students styled the little girls’ hair, then were judged on creativity, complexity, use of tools, and age-appropriateness of the hairstyle. Judges were Alisha Wellman, Andrea Stahl, Lydia Stahl, and Julie Werntz.

Winning best overall was Kristen Culler of Smithville, styling the hair of Peyton Bear, daughter of Tom and Erin Bear of Orrville. First place went to Zach Thilo of Waynedale, with Reagan Hunt, daughter of Josh and Rachel Hunt. Winning second place was Tiffany Baker of Norwayne, with Makenna Stansfield, daughter of Tiffany Stansfield of Wooster. Third place was given to Ashley Tolley of Smithville, with Riley Hunt, twin of Reagan. The most age appropriate award went to Megan Nutter of Norwayne, with Ashlyn Wallace, daughter of Laura Wallace of Orrville. Stylists received certificates and gifts, and the children who won also received small gifts.

The children had a visit with Santa, and all received candy canes and a packet of gifts, and enjoyed refreshments.

Cosmetology instructor is Sarah Stahl, and aide is Danielle Troyer.
