No Name Band to play at Something for Seniors

Senior citizens are invited to attend Something for Seniors on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at The Pier near Mt. Eaton. Seniors are invited to come anytime between 9 and 10 a.m. to enjoy conversation, make new friends and connect with old friends. Coffee and tea will also be available. The planned program begins at 10 with the “No Name” Band performing.

The “No Name” Band started in 2009 with three people getting together to play music and learn to play new instruments. One member invited another friend, and now the band has seven members.

When first asked the name of the band, they didn’t have any; thus, they got the name “No Name” Band. This is a group of retired people who get together and share their love of music. They have played for retirement centers, school groups, church programs, community activities and neighborhood get-togethers. They enjoy the chance to share their music and experiences and put a little joy into people’s lives.

Following the program, lunch will be provided by Mountain Top Restaurant for a donation of $6.50 per person.

The next Something for Seniors program is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 28, when the Unsinkable Molly Brown will visit.

For more information, call The Pier at 330-359-2071.

The Pier is located at 10470 Winesburg Road, approximately 1 1/2 miles south of Mt. Eaton or four miles north of Winesburg, and it is handicap accessible.

All senior citizens are invited to attend and enjoy the event.
