I am writing this letter to endorse Travis (Hutch) Hutchinson as the next Wayne County Sheriff. I worked with Hutch for many years at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, where I retired as a sergeant in the Corrections Division. I am honored to be a member of his campaign committee and I know that he is dedicated to winning the election so that he can continue to serve the citizens of Wayne County as our next sheriff. Hutch will be a 24/7 sheriff, who will be involved in all aspects of running the sheriff’s department. He cares about the community and is determined to make Wayne County a safer place for all of us to live. He will be a sheriff who makes himself available to the citizens he serves.

On Feb. 11, I attended the Hutchinson for Sheriff fundraiser sponsored by Dr. Rich Mairs and his wife, Sharry, and attended by almost 600 of Hutch’s loyal fundraisers. Many of the people who worked with him during his years of employment at the Wayne County Sheriff’s office came to show their support. These are the men and women who worked with him and know that he has the qualifications to be a good sheriff and to get the job done. They have experienced his leadership skills and dedication and know that he cares about them and the citizens he served during his many years as a deputy sheriff. They know that he has the ability to pick a team that will complement his own talents and abilities. Many local business men and women made donations to the fundraiser, to help with his campaign. All of these people trust him to provide the services needed to protect their families, homes, and businesses.

Travis Hutchinson has run a campaign based on integrity, honesty, hard work, and common sense law enforcement. These are all qualities that will serve him well as our next Wayne County Sheriff. Join me in voting for Travis Hutchinson for Sheriff March 6.
