We have all been given the power of Jesus

To my faithful readers, I hope you have been learning and getting revelation on this series I have been doing. It is my hope and prayer that deeper revelation of who we are in Christ and what we have been given in our spirits through him will begin to dominate your way of thinking. It is only when we know the truth that we can walk in the truth and be set free through Christ.
What I am about to share is another trait we now have through Christ, and it is essential to know this so we can walk in the abundant life he died to give us. It is through Jesus living in our spirits that we have been freely given his authority and power.
I know this may sound ludicrous to most, but it really isn’t. You see, in God’s original creation of man, he gave them dominion over the earth.
Genesis 1:27-28 says, "So God created man in his own image; in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on earth.'"
God gave them his authority, but what did they do? They agreed with Satan that God was holding back on them, ate of the tree and sinned, thus transferring their power over the earth to Satan.
When Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days and tempted by the devil, he said to Jesus, “All authority I will give you, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if you will worship before me, all will be yours.”
What Satan didn’t know was he would soon be stripped of his power. Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). This verse is not only referring to people, but I believe it also is referring to the authority and power that man lost to the devil. This was part of the salvation package Jesus purchased to restore man to the rightful authority he had originally been given.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:18-19, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore, making disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
He was saying, “Look, I’ve bought back the authority that mankind had lost, and now I am passing it along to you. You are my body on earth. Walk in this power I have given you.”
If you have received Jesus, you now have the same power on the inside of you, in your spirit, that raised Christ from the dead (Ephesians 1:19-20). That power is far above any other power or principality (Ephesians 1:21) and is able to do abundantly more than we can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Isn’t that incredible? Why are so many believers unaware of what we have been given? Why do we walk around powerless, begging God to use his power but not realizing we now have that power inside us?
You may look in the mirror and think there is no way these scriptures could apply to you. But you need to start renewing your mind to what you have actually been given and know to be true through the word, rather than what you feel is true.
“We walk by faith and not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7.
Stop looking at what you see in the natural and renew your mind to who you now are in the spirit. Picture your spirit like a ball of dynamite, a mighty ball of Jesus’ power residing inside of you. It is just waiting for you to tap into it. Know that power is much more powerful than anything the enemy will try to throw at you.
“He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” — 1 John 4:4.
It is not your power. It is his power, but he chose to allow that power to reside in you at the new birth so you could walk in that authority and help bring a tangible manifestation of the Kingdom to earth. Don’t walk around unaware of what you have been given. Freely you have received it, and freely you are to use it. Stop allowing the devil to walk all over you. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
Rise up believers, rise up. Walk in his power and authority today.
