Wildcats hockey team take on local celebrities

Just as in ice hockey, sled hockey is played with six players including a goalie. Players propel themselves on their sledge by use of spikes on the ends of two 3-foot-long sticks, enabling a player to move as well as shoot and pass ambidextrously.

The Wildcats sled hockey team will take on local celebrities on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. at the Alice Noble Ice Arena in Wooster. The Wildcats will play each other in a scrimmage directly after the celebrity game, followed by Try Sled Hockey for spectators.
Admission is $5. Those age 5 and under get in free. A 50/50, raffle and silent auction items will be available.
Confirmed celebrities include Sen. Frank Larose; Dr. Michael Tefs, Wooster City Schools; Greg Long, Long, Cook & Samsa; Sarah Baker, Ccj; Lynette Mattson, College of Wooster; Capt. Scott Rotolo, Wooster Police Department; Earl Rhamy, Wooster; Hydrostatics; Michael Carroll, Schaeffler North America; Claire Miller, the Daily Record; Samantha Stine, Declaration Crossfit; and Dr. Rebecca Russell, Cleveland Clinic.
Alice Noble Ice Arena is located at 851 Oldman Road, Wooster.
