Upriver will present its music at the Sonnenberg Village Welcome Center, 13497 Hackett Road, Kidron, on Saturday evening, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.

Upriver’s roots are in the traditional folk music of the country, and this special show combines music and discussion to explore the need to stay in touch with the traditions and accumulated wisdom of the ages, especially in these days of high-tech interruptions and virtual experiences.

Dan Moorefield and Teresa White Morrison have been playing traditional and original folk music together for 18 years. Their vibrant music is woven together with stories and legends to deepen understanding of our rich heritage.

Moorefield is featured on guitars, piano, fiddle and vocals. He mixes his research on history with music from the past and his life experiences as a farmer, teacher, father and businessman.

Morrison brings to the music a variety of instruments including the Irish whistle, banjo, mandolin, guitars and vocals. She expresses the connection with the music, which has crossed an ocean, the Appalachian Mountains and the generations.

Tickets for admission are $10 and will be sold at the door.
